Amjad M. Tadros is an award-winning investigative journalist and media entrepreneur with over three decades of leadership in digital media, communications and journalism. He is recognized for his groundbreaking reporting, commitment to truth, and for building platforms that empower future generations of journalists.
As CBS News' Middle East producer, Tadros managed coverage of historic events such as Iraq's wars, the Sept. 11 hijackers’ backstories, the Arab Spring and Syria’s chemical attacks — earning multiple Emmy, Peabody and duPont awards.
Tadros co-founded Syria Direct, an independent media organization empowering young Syrians to deliver impartial news about their country's conflict. Publishing in Arabic and English, it became a trusted source for Syrians, the diaspora, diplomats and scholars worldwide.
Tadros holds an honors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London and a Diploma in Public Narrative from Harvard Kennedy School, blending technical expertise with leadership in storytelling.
Recipient of four Emmy Awards (2016, 2017), the 2008 Peabody Award, two Alfred I. duPont Awards, the 2017 McNulty Prize, the 2020 Free Press Unlimited Co-Production Fund prize, and the 2019 Migration Media Award.
